UTA Expands Board of Directors and Appoints Leader of Oversight Committee

Omaha, Nebr., May 21, 2007 - The Used Textbook Association announced today that Barry Waters, Bookstore Director, Central Michigan University Bookstore, has been elected to serve as chairperson on the Oversight Committee. In addition, Mike Kelly, Senior Vice President, Textbook Division, Nebraska Book Company has been appointed to the Board of Directors.

Waters was elected to serve as chairperson of the Oversight Committee by the members of the committee along with the Used Textbook Association Board of Directors. The term runs through February 2009. The Oversight Committee was formed in February of this year to help provide bookstores with a greater voice in the strategic direction of the Used Textbook Association.

Kelly replaces Dan Schuppan on the Board of Directors. Schuppan resigned his position in November 2006.

Barry S. Major, President, Used Textbook Association, and Chief Operating Officer, Nebraska Book Company, said: "We are pleased to have both Barry Waters and Mike Kelly serving in leadership positions for the Used Textbook Association. We have been making significant progress in building the association and working with our bookstore members. Barry and Mike are both closely connected with bookstores and will bring a new dynamic to our association."

Used Textbook Association
The Used Textbook Association was formed in 2006 to advocate the role and value of used textbooks in the marketplace and in turn, increase the supply of used textbooks available to students. The Association works to educate students and faculty members on the buy-back process, improve the rate of early adoptions by faculty members, and ensure textbook merchandising practices are appropriate and meeting the goals of higher learning.
