Used Textbook Association Announces New Executive Leadership
Omaha, Nebr., July 9, 2008 - The Used Textbook Association is pleased to announce that Eunice Clark has been selected as Executive Director; and Terry Murphy has been named to the newly created position of Director, Operations.
"Eunice and Terry's extensive bookstore knowledge coupled with their past experience building and developing industry associations will help further propel the Used Textbook Association forward and strengthen the organization," said Barry S. Major, President, Used Textbook Association. "College bookstores are facing many important challenges. With Eunice and Terry both on board, we can meet the needs of our members more effectively and provide them with additional resources to ensure success."
As Executive Director, Clark will provide leadership for the organization, with a focus on the overall strategy of the association along with membership recruitment. She brings more than 30 years of experience at Chaffey College Bookstore and has been very active in the leadership of the California Association of College Stores, including serving as president in 2007. She is also a prominent member of NACS and has presented educational seminars.
Murphy's role as Director, Operations will work closely with the UTA committees and their goals for the organization, and he will lead government relations activities. Murphy has extensive experience in bookstore management, and will continue in his current position as manager of Holyoke Community College Bookstore. He is recognized for his work with small local stores to build a national buying organization.
"The experience and knowledge that Eunice and Terry bring to the UTA is impressive," said Major. "Together, they can help continue the growth of the UTA as a resource for members and the college bookstore industry. They will provide strong leadership for the issues surrounding used textbooks and the need for textbook affordability for college students."
